The Terre Sparse farm was born in 2001 in Bienca, a small fraction of Chiaverano, when, together with my mum Franca and dad Diego, we decided to buy an old ruin with uncultivated land, mainly to have a small plot of land for self-production of fruit, vegetables and wine grapes.
The Canavese is a vast area located between Turin and the entrance to the Valle d'Aosta and extended to the borders with the Vercelli and Biella areas. All of our territory is historically cultivated for the production of wine grapes, as well as fruit and vegetables. All this in a very particular condition made up of a long moraine greenhouse and terraced land with kilometers of dry stone walls.
We redid the older vineyards, among which we planted a "Historic" vineyard using, as they once did, all the old stone "culigne" (typical poles of our area), planting Freisa, Uva Rara and Slarina.
Our goal is to rediscover the territory, through the typical food products, which in a bygone era was abandoned to make way for industry.
